Historical Foundation

The historicity of the Faculty of Recording Media Arts ISI Yogyakarta has long been the first media arts higher education institution in Indonesia. Likewise, the Film and Television Study Program as a study program in the first film and television scientific family in Indonesia, even inspired the growth of similar study programs in Indonesia. The strong alumni potential has spread throughout Indonesia. As a study program located in Yogyakarta, its privilege and position as a cultural city have provided opportunities for the Film and Television Study Program to develop local discourses and colors with character. The development of progressive art discourses and practices in society has also increased the need for graduates in art universities. 

Changes in society's perception of the professions of graduates of art universities and branding The Film and Television Study Program encourages public interest in pursuing education at ISI Yogyakarta. This is also supported by the growth of the creative economy sector, not only in Indonesia, but also internationally. The growth of the creative industry provides opportunities for students, graduates and institutions to improve their education. learning outcomes on the ability of creative, innovative, and competitive resources in seizing the global market.
